Money can solve a lot of problems.
Yes, I said it. Money can be super helpful – and let’s be honest - money is the reason why people work. Money is the energy of how we operate in this world.
And there is a TON of energy around it. “Money is the root of all evil. Money can’t buy happiness.” You see people defining how successful they are by how much they make. They define how powerful someone is by the amount of money they have. We learn early on that it’s not polite to talk about money. Don’t you think we have such a weird relationship to the thing that quite literally fuels our survival?!
Being a Job Reset Coach - I’d be crazy to leave out the conversation around the elephant in the room… your salary!
Working with people in the corporate world – I hear over and over again from my clients that the #1 reason they stay in their job – is the paycheck. And this needs to be celebrated! HELL YES to you having a steady, fat paycheck. Good on you! You should be proud of, grateful for and celebrate those dollars regularly hitting your bank account.
Of course, there is (as with everything) a tipping point. But this isn’t the article where we’re diving into that. Just like your job - money can’t solve all of your problems. But money can indeed solve a lot of problems.
Let’s take a look at some of the many problems money can solve:
Money pays for your mortgage/rent.
Hey – this is a basic need and without money – you wouldn’t have one.
You can choose what companies you buy from when you have enough money.
We vote every day with our dollars – having money can help you create the world you’d like to see thrive.
Money can help you pay for support – a house cleaner, a chef service, a coach, a new employee, a babysitter.
This gives you back TIME! One of the most precious resources you have.
Making more money per hour means less time needed working.
When money is tight, people may work two jobs. This can lead to a rise of additional problems that weren’t there to begin with (lack of sleep, no time with your family, exhaustion, etc).
Money can pay for education.
And (typically) the education is a positive return on investment in the long run.
You can invest your money to work for you without taking more of your time.
Passive income – need I say more?
Money can solve the stress of not being able to buy the things you need.
Imagine a life not needing to worry about what you buy.
Traveling costs money!
Almost all of my clients look forward and recharge during their vacations. Disconnect and reconnect.
Having money can offer a sense of security.
The sense of security with knowing no matter what happens, you can figure it out financially. Ahhh – that sounds so comforting.
Of course, there are many more ways money works for you. And perhaps now is the time to look at your relationship with money. Do you shun it? Shame people who do/don’t have it? Shame yourself for having it? Do you secretly love it, but afraid to admit it? Or do you celebrate it and the awesome life your salary helps you to create?
I, myself have done pretty extensive self-work around money. I, personally love money. I believe money equals freedom and I strive to be free in this lifetime. It has brought me (and bought me) so much in my lifetime. I am so grateful for it.
So, take a moment to jot down a list for yourself. What are the problems your salary solves in your life?
