Client Transformation Story
Caroline: Tech Industry
The Starting point
Caroline came to me looking for support with her work stress. She was working with a functional doctor and they pointed out she could benefit from some additional help to decrease the amount of stress she was feeling… specifically at work.
Caroline was at a breaking point in her job and desperately searching for what else she could do. She had gotten as far as she could on her own and came to me with a number of options:
She could quit. The career she had worked so hard to build. The salary. The flexibility.
She started brainstorming what else she could do. Considering taking a paycut (as a single mom) to perhaps try “starting over” as a Health Coach or an Office Manager.
She wrote on her intake form, “At what point do I ask to be transferred to another department?”
One thing for sure – she knew she couldn’t (in her words) burn the candle at both ends anymore.
Her work stress bled into her wellbeing.
She was experiencing massive anxiety/depression around Mondays. The start of the week would feel like this unknown war zone she’d be walking into. Dreading the emails, fires that would determine her week ahead. She would become so exhausted from this; she’d often have to take naps during the day. She was starting to suffer from memory loss that was becoming a concern.
On top of the physical challenges she was experiencing, she felt like she had lost herself.
She was once an active, motivated, happy and extremely driven woman who had now lost her drive, wasn’t moving her body, and hated getting through the week.
All this being said, Caroline was ready for a different way. She was ready to invest in support to help herself.
Our Work Together
In the first session I had with Caroline, I knew right away she was a go-getter. Her story was that of a hero’s journey. Being a single mom, leaving an unhealthy relationship and carrying herself through endless trials and tribulations. Through her willingness to show up, I knew she’d see huge results through our work together.
Since Caroline was local, we decided to meet outside for our sessions (as a Nature-Connected Coach, this is something I offer). We met in a quaint neighborhood park where we held our walking appointments. There really such benefit to being outside during a coaching session... add in movement – something else unlocks.
Over the months we worked together, we dove into many tools and practices:
Mondays: One of the main pain points when Caroline came in was her dread and anxiety around Mondays. This was the first thing we tackled in learning how to intentionally create a different reality for her. By looking at what was in her control and proactively creating a new reality. I think it was only three weeks or so before this no longer had a pull for her.
Perspective Shifts: One of the biggest shifts for Caroline was in the perspective shifts. There are certain types of people that process verbally and once they hear and recognize another possibility – it clicks for them.
Work doesn’t have to be hard. She had worked so hard (as a single mom) for years and years. And it helped her to survive, but she now had support around her and could let go of this grip.
Recognition at Work: We uncovered that one of her main needs was to feel accomplished and to be recognized. We dove into how she could create more of this in the job she had now.
Limiting Beliefs: As we continued, we discovered some limiting beliefs of “I don’t know enough.” Although she had been in this role for a year, she had recently come from a place where she had been there seven years and was an expert. We spent time on shifting the limiting belief into, “I know a hell of a lot and am always learning more.”
Partswork: For the last handful of sessions, I took Caroline through a Coaching Practice called Partswork. This is an intentional process we enter into to identify all “parts” of you. We sorted out all of her internal parts to learn how to create harmony within.
In this coaching container, Caroline found incredible growth and clarity. A deep understanding to why she had certain beliefs, tendencies and thoughts. And learned how to communicate with each of her parts to work out her challenges in the moment and how to do this work moving forward on her own.
The Transformation
Seeing the progress unfold for Caroline was amazing. I still remember my jaw on the earth multiple times witnessing the breakthroughs time after time.
Through her tranformation she:
Found an amazing sense of relief in her job with some massive perspective shifts. And shifted from having everything feel like a struggle to living with ease.
Found ways to feel accomplished & recognized in her job.
Moved out of the super-drive she was burned out from and into a place where work was of importance, but not a life-killer.
Started moving her body again.
Stopped dreading Mondays.
Shifted entirely from hating her job, to having a deep appreciation for it.
Learned about all parts of herself and started some tender work around some of the inner child wounds that were holding her back.
Noticed other parts of her life started to elevate as well. Her partner relationship as well as the relationship with her son.
Was alive again.
Was able to start accepting support and letting work and life feel easeful rather than a battle.
To say she flourished, was an understatement. It was an incredible honor to walk alongside her journey. Thank you dear Caroline for being YOU. The world is cheering you on alongside me!
