Seasonal Nature Connection Guide: Beltane

Seasonal Nature Connection Guide: Beltane

As a nature lover, connecting with the seasons is one of the most profound ways to flow with the natural energy of life. We live in a world that constantly pulls us into the mind and away from the body, away from the land, away from what is real. But every time we pause, breathe, and root ourselves in the present moment of the season, we begin to remember who we are. We remember that we are nature.

Beltane is a celebration of life. Of fire, of fertility, of the rising sap, of Earth in her full sensual glory. And aligning with this energy is a sacred act of reclamation. It’s a time to honor our inner fire, awaken the body, and connect to joy, pleasure, and aliveness. When you align with the Earth’s seasons, you’re not just tending to yourself… you’re tending to the web of life.

Let’s walk this spiral path together.

How to Use This Beltane Guide:

As your Nature-Loving Bestie, I wanted a seasonal guide to help us re-align. When you’re aligned… everyone wins… including the Earth.

This guide is to help you come back to what you LOVE… nature.

It’ll help you bring in nature connection, spiritual threads, and practical ways to lead you back to reconnection. With that, feel free to utilize this exactly how your intuition is asking you to.

  • Perhaps you read over it all and focus on the part that’s popping out at you.

  • Or maybe you work through the pieces over the six weeks of the season.

  • There’s no wrong way to do it… this is the magic of partnering with the Earth to guide you. There’s not a manual. It’s beyond the realm of templates and processes.

Sounds wonderful, doesn’t it? With that, I think it’s time to dive in.

Beltane: ~May 1 – June 20

Beltane sits opposite Samhain on the Wheel of the Year and is considered a liminal time… a doorway. It’s a sacred midpoint between the Spring Equinox and Summer Solstice. The Earth is no longer just waking up… she is alive, vibrant, fertile, and thriving.

Traditionally celebrated on May 1, Beltane is one of the fire festivals. It’s a time of bonfires, sacred union, and celebration of sensual energy. In modern times, it invites us to reconnect with the parts of us that feel turned on by life.. not just sexually, but creatively, emotionally, and spiritually.

Energy of the Season:

  • Sensuality

  • Fertility

  • Passion

  • Union

  • Vitality

  • Sacred Fire

  • Embodiment

  • Joy

  • Magic

  • Blossoming

Check-in: Where are you ready to come alive?

Plant Spirit of Beltane – Nettle

Nettle Urtica dioica

Plant Spirit Message (channeled by yours truly):

I am a week into a deep-dive with nettle (he’ll be the first herb in my herbal library project) and one of the really fun things I discovered in my connection with him, is nettle is very connected to money and the energy of currency.

Here’s what he wanted to share about that:

Money is all about flow. And energy. Where are you blocking flow in your life? Are you energetically controlling (or attempting to) everything around you? This restricts the flow. Where are you pouring out too much? Where are you taking too much?

The energy I’m receiving here is true flow. Similar to how nettle has an affinity for our circulatory system and blood flow. It’s always moving, never stagnant. This is also the flow of money. It’s always moving, never stagnant.

So, take some time to notice, how well are you allowing money to flow to you and through you? And may you work with nettle to help you deepen that relationship to monetary flow.

Nettle Medicine:

  • Deep Nourishment (rich in minerals like iron, calcium, magnesium)

  • Blood Builder & Cleanser (supports vitality and detoxification)

  • Anti-inflammatory (helps with allergies and joint health)

  • Adrenal & Kidney Support (restorative for burnout and stress)

  • Boundary Healer (helps highly sensitive folks hold their own energy)

  • Vital Energy Awakener (restores vitality when feeling depleted or disconnected)

Ways to Work with Nettle:

  • Add fresh nettle to spring meals (cooked like spinach for nutrient-rich greens).

  • Work with nettle spirit in meditation when reclaiming your connection to money and abundance.

  • Plant nettle near your home for protection and connection to the wild, vital Earth.

  • Indulge in my fave nettle-nutrient dense infusion - Depletion Rejuvenation Blend. It’s the blend that brings you back to life… each one of your individual cells will thank you.

Animal Spirit of Beltane – Bee

Bees are powerful symbols of community, pleasure, devotion, and sweetness. At Beltane, bees are busy pollinating… quite literally spreading life. Bee energy reminds us that when we follow what’s sweet and nourishing, we play a vital role in the web of life.

Bee Medicine Invites:

  • Sacred productivity

  • The joy of service

  • Community connection

  • Following sweetness

  • Trusting your role in the collective

Fun Bee Fact:
Bees communicate through a “waggle dance” to tell each other where to find the best flowers. How freaking adorable is that?

Spiritual symbolism: The bee invites us to check in with community. Who’s in your hive? How can you lean into your fellow bees to nourish and be nourished?

Journal Prompts for Beltane

The power of writing. Make yourself a warm beverage and sit outside in the morning glow. Grab your journal and enjoy this time of reflection.

  • What brings me alive right now?

  • How do I relate to sensuality, joy, and pleasure?

  • What part of my inner fire is ready to be stoked?

  • Where am I invited to open my heart more fully?

  • What sweetness in my life have I been overlooking?

Intuitive Message for Beltane

“Breathe, my dear”. Breathe deep, breathe slow, keep breathing.

I can’t reiterate this enough, but the message is really this simple and this absolutely profound.

If you do nothing else this season of Beltane, may you return to your breath. May you remember how to breathe with your belly. May you pause after your day to breathe. May you start your day with three alivening breaths. And may you do it many times in between.

That’s your message this season. Breathe and be breathed.

Nature Connection Practices for Beltane

  1. Light a Beltane Fire (or candle):

    • Honor the sacred fire of Beltane by lighting a small fire or candle. As it burns, reflect on what you’re ready to ignite within yourself. What do you long to give life to?

  2. Flower Offering to the Earth:

    • Create a nature mandala or lay flower petals in a circle as a prayer of gratitude and blessing to the land.

  3. Follow the Bees:

    • Go outside and observe bees (or imagine them). Tune into what draws you toward sweetness. Where are you being called to serve and bloom?

  4. Go on a Beltane Nettle Blessing Walk:

    • Step 1: Make a Cup of Nettle Tea

      • Use dried nettle and hot water. As it steeps, set your intention:
“I invite the energy of growth, strength, and aliveness.”

    • Step 2: Take Your Tea Outside

      • Go on a short walk or sit with a view of nature — even a small green patch is enough.

    • Step 3: Sip and Feel

      • As you sip your tea, breathe deeply.

      • Feel the warmth of the tea and imagine nettle’s green energy moving through you.

      • Let it awaken your senses… notice the colors, smells, textures around you.

    • Step 4: Leave a Thank-You Offering

      • Sprinkle a bit of dried nettle or water from your cup on the Earth.

      • Whisper a simple blessing: “Thank you for your strength. May I grow with you.

  5. Pleasure Picnic:

    • Make yourself a simple, delicious meal and eat outside with your bare feet in the grass. No phone. Just presence. Let it be nourishing and sensual.

Closing Thoughts

Beltane is the season of aliveness. It asks us to honor the body, open the heart, and follow the fire within. When we reconnect to the pulse of the Earth, we begin to trust our own rhythms again.

May this season bring you joy, passion, and sacred connection to life. And may you always remember that blooming doesn’t need to be perfect.
